BU-65565 MIL-STD-1553 PMC Interface Card

The BU-65565 PCI Mezzanine (PMC) card offers a comprehensive COTS solution for interfacing between embedded PCI and MIL-STD-1553 buses. The conduction cooled version, built to VITA-20 specifications, features a robust design with thermal vias, a heat spreading plane, and copper strips providing a thermal interface to baseboard rails. The card has passed extensive shock and vibration testing. The BU-65565 is also available as a convection-cooled card, with a choice of rear-panel, front-panel, or rear- and front-panel input/output.

The BU-65565 includes one to four channels of DDC's field-proven, industry standard Enhanced Mini-ACE. This advanced bus controller architecture provides a high degree of flexibility and autonomy: improving message scheduling control; minimizing host overhead for asynchronous message insertion; and facilitating bulk data transfers and double buffering, message retry and bus switching strategies, and data logging and fault reporting. In addition, the PMC card's remote terminal architecture meets all common MIL-STD-1553 protocols. RT data buffering and interrupt options offer robust support for synchronous and asynchronous messaging while ensuring data sample consistency and supporting bulk data transfers.

he Model 7803 Low Profile PCI serial interface provides eight RS-232 serial ports capable of data rates to 460.8K bps. Each RS-232 port implements all modem control signals for maximum compatibility with a wide range of peripherals. The board is MD1 Low Profile and Universal Bus (3.3V and 5V) compatible and utilizes 16C864 UARTs to provide 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs for maximum reliability in data intensive applications. The board ships with a 36" cable that terminates to eight DB-25M connectors. The Model 7803 is for use in Low Profile PCI slots only. The Model 7803S is for use in standard size PCI slots.

RD 19240 Resolver Converter for Automotive Applications

The RD-19240 is a low cost programmable 10,12 or 14 bit resolution ASIC tracking resolver-to-digital converter. This converter offers off-the-shelf solutions for today's high demand motion feedback applications. This ASIC converter features programmable parameters such as resolution with accuracies to 8 arc minutes. The converter may be configured for operation with a single +5VDC power supply. Programmable bandwidth for dual applications with a single converter and a velocity output used to replace tachometers may be scaled to your application needs. The velocity scale factor / tracking rate is programmed with a single resistor. The optional internal synthesized reference feature eliminates errors due to quadrature voltage and ensures operation with a rotor-to-stator phase shift of up to 45 degrees. Inputs may be configured for resolver, synchro, LVDT / RVDT and DC SIN / COS. Resolution:10, 12, or 14 bit. Accuracy: To 8 minutes. Tracking: To 1152 rps.

ET 71000 GigEXTREME: Gigabit Ethernet Network Access Controller

Allied Data Systems Pty Limited announces the release of the ET-71000 Gigabit Ethernet Controller PMC Cards for military applications. The ET-71000 series are dual channel Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) PMC cards optimized for use in embedded avionics and vetronics systems. These include sensor interfacing, multi-processor and DSP arrays, radar systems, display systems, serial backplanes, and storage.

The cards include a TCP/IP Off-load Engine (TOE) that implements the full TCP/IP protocol stack, thus freeing up valuable host processor bandwidth. There are versions of the card providing either electrical or optical interfaces on a conduction cooled PMC form factor.

DDC developed firmware for the TCP/IP protocol engine, data traffic manager and redundancy manager provides deterministic performance and reliability. ET-71000 supports high-speed duplex data transfer while preserving standard driver interfaces such as VxWorks Sockets. The cards architecture provides the flexibility to meet the system requirements for embedded,real time, military applications. The flexible architecture is not sensitive to rapidly changing commercial market forces that can result in shortened life cycles. Instead, DDC Gigabit Ethernet technology has been designed to meet the multi-decade life cycle demands of military/aerospace programs, continuing our demonstrated commitment as a long-term military COTS supplier of digital interface devices.
