| Allied Data Systems is providing custom engineered products and systems for use on Australian, Spanish and US naval vessels as well as systems for aircraft. Our systems have been tested for compliance to MIL-STD-461 (electromagnetic compatibility), MIL-S-901D & IEC 68-2-27 (shock), MIL-STD-167, MIL-STD-810 & IEC 68-2-6 (vibration), MIL-STD-810 (temperature and humidity). Our systems vary from rugged displays and embedded processing systems for data distributions to internal shipboard communications and training systems such as the "Permission to Train System" used on the Australian Naval FFG's. Following are some examples of the work we have or are doing:
| Rugged Displays: were designed for EDO Corporation for use with the Model 3040 and 3060 Doppler Sonar Velocity Log. These systems received data from the log and display ships speed, water depth, distance traveled as well a diagnostic and setting information from the Log. The display units can be selected by the user for imperial or metric. The displays were certified to MIL-STD- 461C, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-167, MIL-STD-810 and IEC529 (IP rating). |

| Ship's Data Distribution Unit: designed for NQEA for the Australian Naval Hydrographic Ships, these units received pitch and roll from the on board sensor in RS 422 format and re-transmitted it in multi-speed synchro format for various pieces of equipment including the glide slope indicator and horizontal reference system (helicopter landing system for the ship). Of specific interest is the embedded software which through the use of a knowledge based algorithm output data to the landing system at a much faster and finer rate than the data was received from the sensor. This allowed for the use of a low cost sensor for pitch and roll on board the ship. |

| Synchro Serial Interface: this is part of a data acquisition system for use on the Navy's Seahawk instrumented helicopters providing 4 channels of synchro information via an RS 422 serial interface. |

| OCP Switch Panel: this switch panel was designed specifically for Thales in Australia for use as an experimental system on board the Australian Minehunters. The panel was designed to be retro-fitted to the existing consoles and provided a series of custom switches transmitted to the Thales controller via serial interface. In addition a series of video switches and buffers were provided for the video being returned by the Thales system for display and recording. |

Permission to Train System: This system is designed as a triple redundant safety system that allows the on board training systems to operate only when all weapons systems have been disabled. Due to the potentially catastrophic nature of a fault in the unit, a very detailed failure analysis was formally undertaken.
Console Intercommunication Station (CIS): this system is in operation on the Australian Navy's FFG's. The CIS replaces an existing design and inter operates with the LS537s, VCS945C and other shipboard sound powered systems. ADS reversed engineered the existing systems to enable the new CIS to operate with existing equipment. During the design process we also increased the functionality that was provided for both the audio and signaling system. |

Embedded CPU Development
Allied Data Systems has developed using the MC 68HC908, MC 68HC11, MC 68HC12, Blackfin DSP and Intel based systems providing both hardware and software design.
Engineered for Reliability
We routinely test our systems for EMC, vibration, shock, temperature, humidity and IP rating.
In-House Testing Facilities
We have our own shock and vibration test system plus an environmental test chamber for temperature and humidity.
Software Development
