Electrical/Electronic Engineer - available now

Position Summary:

Allied Data Systems Pty Limited is a small company that supplies embedded computing solutions into industrial and military environments. Our systems are rugged and well built and include software and hardware design. We tend to do all aspects of the design from the start through the mechanical and case design, electrical and software design. Our work is unique and interesting.

We are looking for an engineer to be involved in various embedded computing projects. Our preference is for a recent graduate who is willing to learn and gain experience in the documentation and design of modern electronic systems.

Your specific area of responsibility is as an electrical engineer employed on various projects for the development, manufacture and test of equipment used in Defence Programs as well as other projects as they come available.

Key Responsibilities:

Undertake in association with other employees or contractors the documentation, electrical, electronic and software design, manufacture and test of embedded computing systems and PLC's.

Duties will include but not be limited to the:

Simulation, schematic design, PCB design, software design, documentation, specification, purchasing, manufacture, test system design, and test of the systems plus any other systems as may be included from time to time.

Software we currently use includes: C, C++, Deplhi, Assembler scripting in Pascal and PHP, VHDL, operating systems including Linux, XP and XPe (embedded), ERTOS, DOS.

Hardware platforms we currently use include: x86, PC/104, PC/104+, custom CPU modules based on Freescale Processors, custom modules using Blackfin DSP's, Xilinx CPLD and FPGA's.

Formal Qualifications required:

You must have or be studying to obtain an Electrical Engineering Degree awarded and obtained through study at a recognised Australian or International University and that would enable you to be accepted as an engineer by the Institute of Engineers,

Other Requirements :

As the employment may be on equipment for use by the Australian Defence you MUST be an Australian Citizen.

You must also have very good written and spoken english as there is a significant documentation requirement in this position.
